It was raining last night, and it was a really calming way to fall asleep. I really love rain and the sound of thunder. By the way, the gif is a lot cooler if you listen to rainy mood while looking.

"Consistent market research and experience over the last 50 years in Europe and North America shows that car commuters are willing to transfer some trips to rail-based public transport but not to buses. Typically light rail systems attract between 30 and 40% of their patronage from former car trips. Rapid transit bus systems attract less than 5% of trips from cars, less than the variability of traffic."

v171:  And the fact that past generations had it hard doesn’t decrease the hardships of this generation. It’s like how people say “You think school is hard, but there are kids your age in Africa trying to not get killed every day.” Yeah, that’s sad and all, but that doesn’t mean my problem with class doesn’t matter and I don’t think I as an individual should feel bad because I have a problem that seems trivial in another persons eye.
B: I actually think it does mean that your problems don’t really matter — or that the knee-jerk reaction of blaming the previous generations for making it sooooo harrrrd is misplaced — especially if we’re going to agree that things now aren’t harder. I think sometimes people NEED the triviality of their problems pointed out to them, so that they don’t end up wallowing in self-pity. The fact that framing your own experience of privilege and wealth against starving kids in Africa fails to bring you back to a sense of reality is, like, the definition of narcissistic and self-absorbed :P
You can say that you’re having a hard time without needing to frame it as “THE HARDEST TIME EVER” and that’s something this generation really does have a problem with :)
